Corrections Policy
Last updated: March 2026
The Meridian is committed to accuracy. When we make mistakes, we correct them promptly, transparently, and without equivocation.
Our Standard
Accuracy is the foundation of our credibility. Every factual claim in our reporting is checked before publication. We do not publish information we cannot verify. We do not speculate without clearly labelling speculation as such.
When errors occur — and in journalism they sometimes do — we correct them as quickly as possible. We do not quietly amend articles without acknowledgement. Every correction is noted clearly on the article concerned.
How We Handle Corrections
When a factual error is identified, we will append a correction notice to the article. The notice will state what was originally reported, what the correct information is, and when the correction was made. We do not delete articles to hide errors.
Significant corrections — those that materially affect the meaning of an article — will be noted prominently at the top of the piece. Minor typographical corrections may be noted at the foot of the article.
How to Report an Error
If you believe you have identified an error in our reporting, please contact our editorial team at corrections@themeridianews.com. Please include the article URL, the specific claim you believe to be incorrect, and any evidence supporting the correction.
We will investigate all credible correction requests and respond within 48 hours.
Editorial Independence
Our corrections process is independent of any commercial or external pressure. We correct errors because accuracy matters — not because of who asks us to. Requests for corrections from governments, organisations or individuals are treated with the same process as requests from members of the public.
